Jackie is a second-year graduate student in the Vollum Institute's Neuroscience Graduate Program. In the lab of Alex Nechiporuk, she studies the molecules that govern pioneer neuron migration during zebrafish development. Jackie received her BA in Molecular Biology from Scripps College and pursued post-baccalaureate training in Neuronal Cell Biology at Yale University. Jackie is also a member of the newly founded Science Policy Club, SciPol-PDX, and is excited to gain hands on experience in policy with GRU as the External Relations Chair. Outside of lab, you'll find her on bike rides, running or hiking forests/mountain meadows, or goofing around Portland's many food/drink gems.
